Coaching Philosophy

We believe that starting over is a sign of strength.

We believe that running should be fun.

And we believe that no matter your fitness level, time outside and time spent moving is time well spent.

Our Story

Meredith and Brittany first met as New Yorkers, when Meredith was training for her first New York City Marathon and Brittany was a fan of 5k’s and long walks in Central Park. When they each moved cross country, they kept in touch through annual trips that always seemed to involve at least one hike.

Brittany went on to have three kids and move cross-country again, settling in Seattle. Meredith lived in four states in four years, while navigating back-to-back foot injuries, autoimmune and asthma diagnoses, and ultimately, in 2024, a thyroid cancer diagnosis and surgery.

Through it all, they returned over and over to active goals, and holding each other accountable. In recent years they’ve hiked together on trails in Northern California, New Mexico, and Colorado, including Mount Elbert, the highest peak in Colorado. National parks trips are a favorite, and together they have visited Mount Rainier, the Narrows in Zion National Park, and the Grand Canyon.

That friendship, and the hard-earned empathy of starting over again and again, is what Wind at Your Back Run Coaching is built on.
